Martin, A good thought provoking article! I especially hope for all those vendors who are scrabbling around worrying about competitive user wins! What about existing clients? Don't lose them! I call on all the ERP vendors to invest the support received to give the customers continuing and modern and extended features and nurture and love their partners (customers in their own rights) and their respective clients as we certainly experience.

However!! I absolutely don't understand why one would grimly hang onto blue (green) screen applications and a myriad of spreadsheets as many seem to do when you can acquire, as an example, an ERP subscription license for $99.00 per month and with a small amount of set up training to easily better the management of the entire business?

As the article suggests software has matured to the extent that possibly any good and well respected application change, managed from a major vendor and great partner, will surely benefit from a legacy upgrade ASAP!

In summary, nobody seeks and likes change, after all, so much effort is required but there is so much to gain!
