Medical Dental Solutions (MDS), founded in 2005 and now the largest private biomedical services company in Queensland, supplies dental, veterinary, medical, podiatry and sterilisation equipment from its Townsville head office and branches in Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay and Rockhampton. Its existing setup – an online accounting package linked to separate inventory and order-management software – couldn’t talk to the online store listing hundreds of products, forcing staff to double-enter product data by hand.
MDS set an audit committee with three criteria – value for customers, value for money, value for the company – and after a thorough evaluation chose Jiwa, partly for its inventory management strength and partly because, as an Australian product with local Jiwa Solution Provider support, it fit an Australian business’s needs more directly than an overseas alternative.
About half of MDS’s 18 Townsville staff now use Jiwa for core business functions, with the flexibility to scale as the company’s requirements keep changing.
