Fabrum, the Christchurch-based hydrogen fuel and precision engineering innovator behind projects with NASA, Rolls-Royce, Airbus and Team Emirates New Zealand, was managing its rapid growth on a manufacturing system built for small engineering firms bolted to a standard accounting package – never really an ERP in the modern sense.
CFO Nick Kolff-Loughrey found the setup left the business with poor visibility, relying on manual “swivel chair integration” between systems just to get an accurate view of financials, inventory and the order book. Verde Group’s NetSuite practice, Project Salsa, recommended Oracle NetSuite as a right-sized cloud ERP that could scale with Fabrum’s global ambitions without adding unnecessary complexity, deploying it in just two months.
Fabrum now has a single ERP platform giving it the visibility its growth demands, with Kolff-Loughrey crediting Project Salsa’s hands-on support – “they see themselves as part of our business” – as central to the result.
