Metro Performance Glass, Australasia’s leading manufacturer and installer of double-glazed windows and flat glass products, was running on a patchwork of systems across its seven processing plants and twelve retail locations – a modified Dynamics AX 2012, bespoke in-house tools called Clearcut and Compass, and JDE for finance – creating data inconsistencies and slow, manual processes.
Fusion5 moved Metroglass onto Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations as one unified platform, staging the rollout to reduce risk and adding Advanced Warehousing for inbound glass management across four New Zealand plants, integrated with the company’s LiSEC manufacturing system.
“We needed to adopt ‘one business platform’ and an enterprise application strategy,” says Nick Johnson, CIO at Metroglass, where monthly stock variation has dropped to less than a tenth of what it was, with the project delivered under budget despite an expanded scope.
