carsales.com Ltd, Australia’s largest online automotive, motorcycle and marine classifieds business, deployed Oracle’s JD Edwards EnterpriseOne in 2008 to run financial management, procurement and sales across the group, including CarPoint, bikesales.com.au and Redbook.com.au. Its original implementation partner closed its JD Edwards practice in Australia shortly after go-live, leaving carsales.com with a system that worked but had never been properly tuned.
CFO Cameron McIntyre led the search for a long-term JD Edwards partner the business could build a lasting relationship with, and selected Ndevr. Ndevr’s first task was a post-implementation review, which uncovered billing faults affecting a portion of the more than 150,000 transactions the site processed each month – some invoices were wrong, others were never raised at all. Ndevr fixed the billing leakage and had the system fully operational within two billing cycles, then went on to consolidate what had been three separate invoice types into a single, easily searched and reported customer transaction.
Ndevr has remained carsales.com’s trusted JD Edwards and IT partner since, providing the consistent, long-term consulting relationship the business had originally been searching for.
