Baiada, one of Australia’s largest poultry operators running farms, hatcheries, processing plants, cooking plants and feed milling, was running three separate systems for financials, inventory and accounts receivable – a setup that made even simple business changes take three to six months to implement.
“Our business is one of constant change, and we need systems that enable us to implement changes very quickly,” says Craig Ford, National IT Manager at Baiada. The company consolidated onto Sage X3, replacing the three disparate platforms with one system covering general ledger, accounts payable, purchasing, cash management, manufacturing planning, inventory, order fulfilment, sales order entry and invoicing.
“A key criteria for us was to avoid a situation where a change in our business or marketplace would require us to go through a three- to six-month process to make changes within the system,” says Ford – a constraint the single Sage X3 platform has removed.
