Greentree ERP moves to the cloud

Thousands of businesses rely on Greentree daily and, following Greentree’s announcement of its Web3D Project, they will soon be able to do so entirely in the cloud – if they desire…

Software house Greentree has “refactored” its solutions so they can be delivered on any device within a “platform-agnostic, high-performance, cloud-friendly environment” in what it calls the Web3D Project. The aim, said Greentree’s CEO, Peter Dickinson is to provide ERP solutions with longevity.

“Businesses contemplating a new ERP system can buy Greentree now with the confidence that it will solve their problems today, and continue to do so in the future. There’s no reason to hold back in the fear that purchasing today will mean obsolescence tomorrow.

“The Web3D Project is more than an update – it’s taking Greentree users to the next generation while retaining all the capabilities in which they’ve already invested.”

While Greentree’s clients are already able to use the software through secure cloud connections, the Web3D Project will offer the customers complete choice over an on-premise, cloud, or combined solution. It will also offer increased connectivity to users anywhere who have access to a web browser. The Web3D Project also uses the enhanced capabilities of high-resolution graphics, touch frameworks, pluggable applets (eg Google Maps), multimedia, and devices with in-built capabilities, such as GPS, cameras and scanning, to deliver a new, re-imagined user experience.

According to Greentree, the project has involved “painstaking research” to achieve the aimed-for longevity of product usefulness. The company is well-known for its research and development activities and was one of the first recipients of a multi-million dollar Technology Development Grant from Callaghan Innovation – a grant awarded to firms with a good track record in R&D that spend a significant proportion of their revenue on research and development.

Greentree will be progressively rolling out the Web3D Project capabilities, starting later in 2014. It is promising its existing clients an easy transition to the new iteration of Greentree thanks to its “Softlanding” strategy that will ensure that any new technologies it brings into the mix will co-exist with the business’s current investment.
