Network management innovation needed to meet the increasing demand placed on South Australia’s ICT infrastructure…

IT services and solution provider Dimension Data has won a three-year, $36 million contract renewal with the South Australian Government for the continued provision of managed network services.

The managed network services contract, originally signed in 2006, provides for management, monitoring, break/fix services, administration and support for the South Australian Government’s network and firewall infrastructure. Additional services include intrusion detection and prevention, network and security consulting and advisory services, threat analysis and response and vulnerability assessments.

The next phase of the contract will see Dimension Data supporting the South Australian Government’s stated objective to use its networking infrastructure to improve services provided to the South Australian public. Dimension Data will continue the level of service currently provided to the Government, but move towards a more dynamic contract over the next three years to innovate and meet the increasing demand on the South Australian Government’s ICT infrastructure.

Dimension Data won the renewal by demonstrating a long-term commitment to providing a responsive and reliable service, and a demonstrated ability to continue to innovate in the management of the Government’s network.

Dimension Data was awarded the original three-year managed network services contract in 2006, which was one of the major contracts in the South Australian Government’s Future ICT Procurement Program. Under that contract, Dimension Data provided those network and security services in a rapid streamlined rollout, which serviced around 200 metropolitan and regional government agencies with greater flexibility regardless of their size.
