A new agreement between systems integrator Dimension Data and SAP makes the vendor’s Hybris Commerce available on a software-as-a-service (SaaS) basis for the first time in APAC…
Hybris Commerce is enterprise multichannel e-commerce and product content management software which SAP acquired in 2013.
In a statement, Dimension Data said subscription-based Cloud Services for SAP Hybris Commerce, running on its Managed Cloud Platform, ‘enables clients to access the software quickly and easily without the need for up-front infrastructure costs associated with on premise software deployments.’
With omnichannel commerce available on a SaaS model, the companies are advancing the by-now familiar advantages associated with this delivery model. In a recent feature, iStart examined the challenges faced by vendors and consumers of ‘as a service’ software deployments.
Dimension Data said Hybris Commerce will be delivered as a ‘rapid-deployment’ managed solution which can go live in ‘as few as 100 days’. It added that traditional approaches typically take three to four times as long.
Before potential clients in Australia and New Zealand get too excited, the new service is initially available in Singapore and India, ‘with other APAC countries to follow’.
Manish Pratap, GM, ITaaS, Dimension Data APAC, said the new service is “particularly aimed at clients focused on retail, manufacturing, food and beverage, consumer product goods, and wholesale and distribution.”
Graham Jackson, SAP SVP for Hybris APAC and Japan, said the partnership marries SAP’s commerce expertise with Dimension Data’s cloud services for a scalable SaaS commerce solution.
