Environmentally sustainable premises become the Asia Pacific headquarters for SAP Research…

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh has officially opened SAP’s new environmentally sustainable office in South Brisbane.

With the opening of the premises, Brisbane becomes the regional SAP headquarters for Queensland, Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia, led by Tim Moylan, the company’s general manager North Central West.

The new office is also the Asia Pacific headquarters for SAP Research, SAP’s global technology research unit, where researchers focus on business process management, new technologies for a web-based service economy, Web 2.0 applications, and software for end-user empowerment.

“Our new office in South Brisbane reflects the strategic importance of the Queensland market to SAP in ANZ and indeed for SAP’s research organisation globally,” said Tim Ebbeck, president & CEO, SAP ANZ.

“SAP globally has a strong stance on sustainability so we’re proud that the office represents the latest in sustainable building practices.

The building has been accredited by the Green Building Council of Australia with a 5 Star Green Rating.

The office itself is fitted with water efficient plumbing, energy efficient appliances, low energy light fittings with motion sensors and perimeter blinds to reduce heat loadings for the air conditioning.
