Sydney-headquartered international engineering firm needed an integrated tool to share everything from CAD drawings to emails…
Engineering, sciences and project delivery firm Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM) is implementing Organice to manage and control its engineering project documentation.
Organice, a SharePoint based solution for engineering document management and document control, has been developed by Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Cadac Organice.
SKM has its head office in Sydney and multiple offices around the world. Its projects range from the Stadium Australia for Sydney’s 2000 Olympics, the Yakin oil and gas project, the award winning Tourist Resorts in Queensland, the Bangalore Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and Disneyland Passenger Rail Car.
To work efficiently SKM’s project members need the right tools to collaborate and to share and exchange information, regardless of their location and time zone. The firm said it carried out extensive research before electing Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and the Organice Product Suite as the right platform and tools to manage and control project documents.
SKM will use Organice Explorer to manage its project documents including CAD drawings, Office documents and e-mail, and Organice Transmit to distribute documents to internal and external recipients using transmittals.
Organice will be implemented by CSC Australia, prime systems integrator for SKM and Cadac Organice Partner. In time, SKM will deploy Organice as a standard desktop application to almost all SKM people across the world and will use Organice in its joint ventures with project partners.
