Two-thirds of consumers fear ID fraud

A survey by Sydney-based research company callcentres.net has found that over two-thirds – 67 percent – of Australians interviewed feared their security details are at risk…

The respondents thought traditional PINs and passwords did not provide adequate protection of personal information. This figure was up from 63 per cent in 2008.

More alarming was that 37 per cent survey respondents had either experienced identity fraud or theft themselves, or had a friend or family member who had fallen victim.
