Five year support deal follows modernisation of trustee’s client management system…
Unisys has been awarded a five-year contract by the West Australian Public Trustee to provide support and enhancements to the organisation’s Management Accounting Trust Environment (MATE) application.
The contract for an initial three-year period, with the option of two one-year extensions, commenced December 2009 and was awarded following a competitive bid process. It builds on an eight year-relationship during which Unisys has built, supported and modernised the core Public Trustee application that underpins the organisation.
The Public Trustee offers independent, professional trustee and asset management services to the West Australian community. These include Will and Enduring Power of Attorney drafting, deceased estate administration, executor support, financial administration and trust management services. It is a statutory body that operates under the authority of the Parliament of Western Australia.
“The Public Trustee provides critical estate administration and trust management services primarily to West Australians as well as a small number of clients interstate and overseas – supporting some 4,800 active trustee clients, 100,000 registered wills and almost 3,000 deceased estates per annum. We require a highly reliable client management system, and Unisys has been a longstanding partner that truly understands the importance of the services we provide to our varied client base,” said Terry Hearn, director corporate support, West Australian Public Trustee.
MATE has been the core enterprise application at the West Australian Public Trustee since 2001. It was derived from a similar Client Information Management System (CIMS) purchased from the Queensland Public Trustee. Unisys was engaged to modify and customise CIMS to reflect the different working practices and legislation in effect in Western Australia.
