BlackBerry users in Australia (and NZ) can now access a free Blackberry maps app that will help them find local direction fast…

BlackBerry users can now get a local mapping application for BlackBerry smartphones that provides maps and directions that will help them find locations fast.

The app’s interactive map allows users to easily pan, rotate and zoom in all directions.  It also enables maps to be sent via email and contact address details can also show up on the map. The maps can be enhanced using a GPS-enabled Blackberry device.

If your BlackBerry has a handset code of 4.2 or later, BlackBerry Maps does not have to be downloaded but will be pushed out to your BlackBerry within the next 30 days. For users with pre 4.2 handset code you need to download this app. BlackBerry Device Software v4.1 or later is also required.
