Google takes the Latitude

Published on the 25/03/2009 | Written by Newsdesk

Do you have reason to share your location with colleagues or friends, or your boss? If so, then a new free Google Maps add-on could prove very useful…

Called Latitude, it works with Google Maps and allows people to keep track of each other’s physical location.

Once you’ve granted permission to certain individuals to view your location, they can see your approximate location, providing you keep your phone connected online with Google Maps Latitude. Not all tracking is 100 percent correct, however. You can also set a false location manually and so cheat the location finder.

After all… people don’t always want to be found.
